A neurological change is mirrored in the chamber play of a house, where fragmentations in walls and ceiling indicate a process of decay. Similar to a fever dream, the shadows of a conscious and unconscious state pass one another.

A narrator’s voice describes his memories of his childhood home on the west coast of Estonia. Environments and details are narrated through 3D-rendered photographs, whose incoherency and broken expression show a fragility in the attempt to remember a past environment. As the memory images are distancing, the narrator is reunited with footage of the current landscape- past and present merge.
Rootless (2021)

Rootless is an animated short based on photographs, reflecting upon memory processing of a lost home. The location goes through a transition from present to absent, to eventually become an object of memory. Soundscapes are repeated to a point where technological errors make an imprint, struggling to recall its presence. As the house becomes distant, traveling and fading into time.
